February
Observed National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD)
- 2 Billboard Campaigns: 1/28/21-5/10/21 (paid for 1 month, other months donated by agency)- (Goal 3a)
- Campaigns led to 1,571,162 impressions (views by community members)
- Billboard 1: PrEP awareness and linkage to care information
- Billboard 2: In partnership with Prevention Access- U=U
- (undetectable=untransmittable) campaign for stigma reduction to encourage testing
- 2/7 – Observed NBHAAD by providing prevention information via email blast to Southern University system including 6,325 students enrolled (Goal 3)
Other activities:
- 2/1 – 10,000 Condoms for distribution ordered (Goal 2b)
- 2/1 – Project PEER website launched (Goal 3a)
- 2/22 – Hosted HIV 101: Medical Aspects, Prevention and Treatment guest lecture for 9 Southern University graduate students (Goal 2a)
- 2/25 – Partnered with Prevention Access on film screening/discussion of HIV in Young Black America (Goal 2a)- 91 registered, 48 attended (24 from SUBR)
March
- 3/10 – Observed National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day with paid Instagram campaign that reached 706 accounts (1,022 impressions)- (Goal 3)
- 3/15 – Lead Navigator started position (Goal 6b)
April
- 4/1 – Lead navigator established/solidified campus relationships with campus administration, faculty and staff
- 4/10 – 1st Community Advisory Board meeting held (Goal 1a)
- 4/10- Observed National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day with an Instagram campaign that reached 19 accounts (24 impressions)
- 4/18-Observed National Transgender HIV Testing Day with an Instagram campaign that reached 23 accounts (26 impressions)
- 4/19 – Table at Southern University’s What’s on the Yard event and distributed condoms, lube, and print HIV prevention health information provided by community partners-391 condoms distributed (Goal 2b, 3a)
- 72 bags filled with a vaginal condom, 3 types of trojan condoms, healthy sexual wrist band, lube, contact card for Open Health, and other HIV prevention information
- Single condoms: 3 female condoms, 3 of each type of Trojan condoms
- 4/22 – Table at Southern University’s Spring Fest Silent Party-100 condoms distributed (25 bags with 4 condoms each including 1 vaginal condom)

May
- 5/1 – submitted IRB to Southern University
- 5/1 – Lead Navigator disseminated posters around campus (Goal 3a)
- 5/1 – Set up condom dispensaries on campus (i.e., dorms, student union, health center, fitness center) (Goal 2b)

June
- June- Observed 40 Years of HIV with paid Instagram campaign that reached 1935 accounts (5,188 impressions)-24.4% target demographic of 18-25 in Louisiana 60.9% women, 28.5% men
- 6/5-Observed HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day with paid Instagram campaign that reached 1090 accounts (1888 impressions)
- 6/18-HIV Self-Test Kit Instagram campaign reached 42 accounts (48 impression)
- 6/19 – Observed Juneteenth by attending a community event Scotlandville Saturday: Juneteenth Celebration and distributed prevention materials/condoms to 120 community members (Goal 2b, 3a)
- 6/24 – “My Test My Way” billboard installed in observance of National HIV Testing Day in partnership with TakeMeHome national campaign
- 6/27- Observed National HIV Testing Day with a paid Instagram campaign that reached 3,941 accounts (13,811 impressions)- 86%in target demographic of 18-25 from Louisiana, 57.2% women, 42.5% men

July
- Obtained IRB approval from SUBR
- July 28-Observed World Hepatitis Day with an Instagram promotion reaching 25 accounts (28 impressions)
August
- 8/3-5 – PEER Core Team Retreat at Southern University including site visits to campus and community partners: Southern University administration and support staff, Open Health, Metro Health
- 8/24 – Observed National Faith HIV/AIDS Day
- Hosted webinar Abstinence & Beyond: The Role of Faith Leaders in Ending the HIV Epidemic in Black Communities with panel by a pastor, HIV Ryan White Program Administrator for City of Baton Rouge, and a substance abuse counselor (former HIV case manager)

September
- 9/23 – “Why you being so weird?” Sex Ed event by Joint Greek Council – Dr. Boggs (Community partner w Open Health) co-facilitated w/ Milan; Passed out PEER bags; 35 Attended
- 9/27 – Pop-Up event “Love All” by SU Planned Parenthood; Observed National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day during event – Passed out gender identify, PEER, U=U buttons; 17 PEER bags (lube, 4 condom types, linkage to care info); 40-50 attended
- 9/27 – Observed National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day – $10 paid Insta promotion; 1026 reach in 18-25 BR demographic; 53% women 40% men
October
- 10/18 – “Let’s Talk about Sex”-pop up panelist for panel discussion with the Rho Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma and Planned Parenthood of Southern University
November
- 11/3 – Adapted Inshape Intervention delivered to 1 SU freshman class disseminated 17 condom bags
- 11/4 – Adapted Inshape Intervention delivered to 3 SU freshman classes; 26 consented to data collection, 2 did not, disseminated 22 condom bags
- 11/8-” Cupcakes and Condoms Event”-prepared and supplied the Beta Alpha Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho with 150 condoms goodie bags. Each bag contained 1 ribbed trojan condom, 1 trojan magnum condom, 1 ec3 trojan condom, 1 lifestyle condom, 2 pack of lubrication, STD(I) testing & counseling location, u=u campaign sticker, Avita pharmacy sticker, and peer logo branding sticker
